Portrait of the artist

In Santa Barbara since 1959, John Rindlaub received a BA in "Studio" Art from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1972.
In May of that same year began selling his Artwork at the "Santa Barbara Beach Arts and Crafts Show", a sidewalk art show located in Chase Palm Park along Cabrillo Boulevard in Santa Barbara.

Subsquently I did photo realist watercolors for awhie.

I can be found at the "Santa Barbara Beach Arts and Crafts Show most every Sunday, year 'round, weather permitting. His woodcuts are in collections all around town and all around the world.

I also sell fine art photographs at the beach show.

Lately I have been moving in some new directions and new media. I am doing acrylic paintings, which is a big change from watercolors. I am trying to be looser. I am doing a series of black and white woodcuts derived from the charcoal sketches I've been accumulating at the figure drawing classes I go to at the local Adult Education center.
